Kris loves to employ strategic frameworks and methodologies to modern day challenges having a keen ability to think longterm, define a plan, and map a clear and attainable approach to delivering the plan. His recent focus on solving technology problems for owner / operators of large physical assets has fostered a deep passion for PropTech, and digital transformation in every segment of Commercial Real Estate with an overall focus on viable business applications in new technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotic process automation (RPA), IoT, immersive computing (AR/VR), and robotics.
Mr. Drey served as a Senior Director at Irvine Company, a multi-billion dollar developer in Southern California managing the digital product management and innovation teams under Marketing Technology. At Irvine Company Kris lead the management of 50+ websites, and the development of revenue generating web and physical tools leveraging AI, ML, Immersive Computing, Smart Speakers, and robotics. He supported each segment’s marketing teams in driving leads and leases and was responsible for the company’s first ever use of machine learning with the creation of an apartment recommendation engine which, in its first 30 days, drove an incremental 529 leads and increased lead to lease conversion rates by 12%.
Kris also previously served as Vice President of backend product management for Westfield shopping centers where he was the seventh hire in the digital Lab group, helping to build the Lab up to 100+ technologists in his nearly 4 years there. Prior to that, he worked as a digital product manager and marketer for technology start-ups as well as established technology companies all over the Bay Area including CNET Networks, ViVOTech, and founded his own startups; VidCompare RelateCommerce, and The Byrd, LLC.
